Family Time

This week in pictures:

Jan 20th - I love shwag!  Especially when it comes from nice people and good causes.

Jan 21st - I had a little extra time before a meeting in boulder to get out, enjoy the sunshine and the architectural details on the fun old houses.

Feb 22nd - We had hurricane force winds tonight, so strong that the wind was coming through my closed windows and blowing my plant around. (I was already in bed when I remembered I needed a picture for the day. :)

Feb 23rd - After the crazy wind we had a snow storm and we had a winter wonderland this morning.

Feb 24th - I had dinner with my friend Katie which is extra wonderful since she doesn't like coffee flavored cake - so I got her dessert too!

Feb 25th - Mom and I had a mani/pedi thanks to Dad, and a great day together, followed by a slumber party.

Feb 26th - This morning, I noticed the yogurt covered blueberry in my breakfast made this darling star.

And with snow in the forecast this week, I had to take a picture of this beautiful hibiscus.

Retreat, Retreat!

Starting with the week in pictures:

Feb 13th - All these books - and another half a shelf in my office - to read.  Hooray!

Feb 14th - Happy Valentines Day!  On the way back to work from a meeting at a school, I got to drive by my childhood house.  That always makes me happy. The trees are huge now, but someone has flattened the giant hill we used to sled down, and the street is a little shorter too.

Feb 15th - Fortune Cookies! With bees!

Feb 16th - I went to Noodles downtown with the girls from the office and was so excited to see this new soda machine with all sorts of flavors! The Jetsons had nothing on this.

Feb 17th - I went for a walk on the Highline in the morning, but forgot my camera, of all days!

A little bee didn't make it in this cold.

In the afternoon, Mom and I went on her Women's Retreat, and Jane kept showing everyone the peek-hole in the door and posed for me.

Feb 18th - More retreat pictures:

Mary, and Natasha - Sharon's Dummy who is a regular at every retreat.

Chatting with Mom, Dede and Sharon in the dining room with Pikes Peak and the sunlit pines outside.

Snow on the skylight.

Natasha (Cathy now) got a makeover!

Feb 19th - The view from our breakfast tables.

It was a great weekend with my mother.  One of the women had described it as a family reunion, and that feels so absolutely true.

One Good Day After Another

Feb 6th - Thanks to my friend Elizabeth, I started a quote jar full of funny or wise quotes that tend to make my day.

Feb 7th - When I got home, there was still enough light left to take this picture.  The days are getting lighter!

Feb 8th - After a day of different perspectives I am more grateful than ever for everything behind this door.

Feb 9th - After work I had a little time to kill before a meeting, so I got to relax in the Tattered Cover Book Store for a little while.

Feb 10th - I had a perfectly ripe avocado for my dinner tonight.  That doesn't happen all that often.

Feb 11th - I had a great time with a bunch of fantastic women, and feel very lucky to be part of that group.

Feb 12th - I had a delicious breakfast at Lucile's with another good friend - Sara.

It's been a week of good days.

Good Day, Sunshine

Jan 30th - I am creating again! I finished a purse - new style and materials and I dare say, it's my best yet.

Jan 31st - It was a gorgeous day so I walked to our creepy storage downtown for work, taking in the architecture.

Feb 1st - Double Whammy Day - I had hot chocolate with my friend Justine Zollo which is always a good time, and then, when I got to work I brought in my latest purse to show my boss and friends, and my boss bought my purse!! And then sung my praises and showed off my work all over the office!!! Great way to start the month.

Feb 2nd - I had to opportunity to visit my old work and bask in appreciation for what I used to do, and to relive a little of that fun with the kids from my current job.

Feb 3rd - I am a creature of habit.  This is a pic of the things I do daily or weekly - a daily photo (caught in the reflection), I journal every day, I write a poem about one of Steve McCurry's portraits every night as kind of a writing exercise, I read a little about writing daily, and write (computer) on my novel and read for fun every day too.  I blog weekly as well.  I love having the freedom and ability to do all  of that so often.

Feb 4th - Yesterday it snowed and snowed and snowed some more, so today while running errands, I wore my polka-dotted galoshes so I could slosh through the slush and puddles freely.  I even invoked the spirit of my 3 yr old niece and did a little happy stomping.

Feb 5th - Today I had lunch with my friend Becca, and this morning I went for a walk in the neighborhood because the Highline was buried too deep.

I paused to watch the air bubbles creep Fantasia-style under the ice in the morning sun.
