What a Lovely Way to Burn

Spring Fever! Everything is budding and blooming and smelling delicious - even the sprinklers!

This week's pictures:

March 19th - I visited a school where the kids were interviewing a panel of non-profits, deciding who they were going to give their money to.  The kids were so professional and wonderful!

March 20th - I just had to laugh at my awesome parking job at another school - under pressure of the after-school parent parade.

( I just took down the photo as there was a little TMI pictured. But it was a classic parking job, I assure you!)

March 21st - I'm a big girl that can have donuts for dinner if she wants to - or has to for a late meeting.

March 22nd - Surprise! I have a daffodil!

March 23rd - Dinner with my friend Carly over delicious Greek food at Pete's Central One.

March 24th - Spring buds and blossoms all along my walk on the Highline this morning.

I love that I can walk by a barn with horses, and in the distance is a business district.

March 25th - I was very happy to see that my talented artist brother has my little attempt at water color birds on telephone wires in his studio.

Starting The Week Off Right!

March 12th - When I got home from work it was sunny and beautiful.  For the first time this spring, I poured myself a glass of wine and sat out on my back patio reading.  A great way to start the week!

March 13th - I pitched an idea to one of my program committees and won almost everyone over.

March 14th - I had dinner with Mom and Dad after a meeting at a school in Colorado Springs, and though we talked through the sunset, I still got a picture of the rock.

March 15th - While out at another school, I saw my first crocus.

March 16th - My boss took me with her to Colorado Contract Cut and Sew where I got a bunch of remnants of great material! I also happen to love the name of the Granite company on this sign - made me chuckle out loud.

March 17th - The pics of the Irish step dancers didn't come out, so instead of a St. Paddy's picture,
I have pictures from my 7 mile walk on the highline.

A house or shed built into the side of a hill.

The tree below was growing up in the middle of a silo that had lost it's roof.

This hawk was quite literally floating in place, hovering against the wind.

May 18th - And from another walk this morning -

This bench, dedicated to a couple's memory had a gorgeous view.  I would like to come back and sit.

Spring!

Spring is upon us and Daylight Savings is today so the days will be lighter longer which means A:  Happiness!! and B: more opportunities for pictures.

March 5th - I got a shot of the moon through the trees, stuck in traffic, on my way home.

March 6th - I took a half hour this afternoon to sit in a different chair than my usual spot and read - with a different perspective.

March 7th - A little boy in the Student Senate was so excited that his name went down on the agenda for seconding the motion, and it made my day.  But I couldn't take his picture without a release, so I took a picture of the artwork in the library instead.

March 8th - I've been going out to schools a lot lately, and am very impressed by the architecture of some of these old schools.

March 9th - I drove home with the window open today, and had dinner with my friend Jenica, but forgot to take a picture of either event.  So I took a picture of this book which is my easy-peasy go-to for research for my novel.

March 10th - I had dinner with my friend Maura, and again, forgot to take a picture.  So this is a photo of the very delicious nutella cheesecake I made for dessert.

March 11th - I am going to be so sore tomorrow, but not as sore as I would be if I didn't have my mom and dad's help shoveling all my rock for my landscaping project.

Happy upcoming spring!

Monday Cupcakes

Feb 27th It's Monday, a good excuse for a cupcake.  This wasn't the best I've had, but better than no cupcake.

Feb 28th -Painted toenails are just little ruby reminders of femininity.  And I like it.

Feb 29th - I got to go visit one of our participating schools for work and see the kids in my program in action, holding a conference call with a hospital in Haiti based in Pittsburg, interviewing them to see if the kids wanted to give them a grant.

March 1 - I got stopped at a train crossing on my way home from work, and rather than get frustrated at the added time to my commute, I took a moment to pause, pull out my camera and try to get some artsy shots.  Didn't happen, but it was still better than stressing.

Mar 2nd - A little bit of fresh color in our sun-less office.

March 3rd - I had a little time to stop in and see my brother and nephew in the midst of errands.  Connor was so excited and showing me all of his toys, and he was really excited about the balloon sword I brought him.

March 4th - I had a great - though short - walk this morning on the Highline.  It felt like spring and I got quite a few pictures.
