Out of Focus

Sept 24th - I finished a purse for my friend Maura, a belated birthday present.

Sept 25th -Not one but two laugh-out-loud episodes of The New Girl!

Sept 26th - I had such a busy day - and so so sleepy - that I was very very grateful for my pillow tonight.  It's a little out of focus which represents exactly how I was feeling!

Sept 27th - I ventured to Frederick, Colorado today, and itty bitty town northeast of Denver.  This is the city hall!

Sept 28th - Free tickets to a play tonight! August Wilson's Fences, which was...interesting.  I tried to take a picture of the set, but it was way too out of focus, so no picture today.  So sorry.


Sept 29th - The colors in my yard are turning, and they are vibrant!

Sept 30th - Roasted acorn squash today and love how it's so pretty, flower shaped, when you slice it.

This week should be much less busy, and so more in focus! Hope yours is too.

September 17th - I am grateful for my new duvet cover that will keep my room bright and cheery - and warm- this winter!

September 18th - Kevin and I made delicious twice baked potatoes tonight - my first!

September 19th - I had spontaneous lunch with my friend Kim today at Snooze - good all around - and fell in love with the seasonal Caprese Benedict.

September 20th- I have been reaping the benefits from my veggie garden with french zucchini, regular zucchini, green peppers and basil.  I can't wait till I get to try my watermelons, leeks and pumpkins!

September 21st - Kevin making a wish in the fountain.

September 22nd - We saw this sign in a coffee shop. I like it!

September 23rd - Mom's Birthday dinner with the family.  Her birthday isn't until Thursday but that's never stopped us from celebrating early.

I just saw that someone is following me from India! Hello over there!

A Golden Weekend

September 10th - I'm grateful for my latest purse...

And for finishing this poem project in this Portrait book of Steve McCurry's.  I bought the book about 14 years ago intending to write poems about the portraits inside and finally finished - a poem a day from Jan 18th -Sept 8th.

Sept 11th - I had a business meeting at Sweet Action ice cream shop where they have very interesting ice cream flavors. Note the Roasted Green Chile, Jalapeno Lime, Thai Iced Tea, and Biscuits and Jam.  I had Bailey's Irish Cream.

Sept 12th -  I pitched my program for work to a group of kids in West High School's library, where there's a tree growing out of the library floor!

Sept 13th - This is the green pepper from my garden I'm eating for snack without dressing because I joined weight watchers online on Monday.  Mmm,mmm.  This is so much better than a rice krispie treat.

Sept 14th - I found this cool business at an Urban Market downtown - Birch Bender's Griddle Cakes.  They're out of Boulder and there's a fill line on the jar that you fill with water and shake, then pour on the griddle.  Perfect for camping!

Sept 15th and 16th - Speaking of Camping, I went this weekend which happened to be perfect for the golden aspens.  I had a perfect afternoon sitting by a river in the afternoon light writing and reading.

Change in the air!

September 3rd - I love coming across a good book like this one - Case Histories, by Kate Atkinson.

September 4th - I'm grateful for sweet moments, like Kevin and I holding hands while watching TV.

September 5th - Catching up with Debbie and Eileen was very nice.

September 6th - I got a cold for the first time in a year and had to sit through a training.  Luckily there was this beautiful stained glass that I could focus on.

September 7th - I love fall! And the first cool day where I could wear my new sweater.

September 8th - Had a family bbq tonight at which the family met Kevin, and the kids were up to some cute antics.  Here's Princess Corinne, and King Connor won't sit still...

...until you give him a cookie.

September 9th - Kevin and I had a great little picnic at a bench in the park along the Highline Canal tonight including lingon and blueberry chocolates from Ikea.  

Good Days!

August 27th - This is a sculpture outside the Art Museum.  One of our public art installations I can actually get on board with.

August 28th - My darling boyfriend surprised me with tea to-go this morning. 

August 29th - I have been looking for a good pair of black flip flops without a ton of crud on them all summer! Finally found them at Walgreens, of all places!

August 30th - When I came out to my car today, someone had left this little sticky note over my bumper sticker.  "When you find him let me know."

August 31st - I made some time to finally sit down today and do a good bit of writing and it felt good!

September 1st - I finally found a pair of red heels today!! I'm very excited!! They're not hooker heels either! You would think after Dorothy's fashion statement that tasteful red heels wouldn't be so hard to find.

September 2nd - I saw Mom and Dad's new house today, with a garden full of veggies and a couple outstanding dahlias like this one.
